At the Running Gym I have devised a method for improving performance and minimising injury risk that works. We see massive improvement in all our runners, most smashing their previous PB’s out of sight and our injury rates are much lower than the 70-80% per year quoted as the norm for runners.
How do we achieve these results?
We address ALL the different aspects of running performance – we don’t just run and hope for the best!
Your programme begins with a posture and gait assessment, with video feedback from a range of angles.
From this, I identify and draw up a list of where improvements can be made.
Then we do gym work to correct muscular imbalances, improving strength and mobility with a variety of different tools and methods, as appropriate to the individual.
We test and retest on the treadmill until you are moving optimally for you.
Depending on your running goals, we work out a run training programme, alongside your gym work (because you still have to do some running, but maybe not as much as you thought in some cases).
We slot in interval training and time trials on the treadmill, geared to your race distance, particular courses etc., as and when appropriate and regularly review your progress.
We engage in regular maintenance work to keep your running smooth and flowing.
Last, but not least, we look at all the lifestyle and mindset pieces that massively contribute to your running – psychology, sleep, nutrition, stress, work and give you all the advice you need in these areas to perform at your peak and avoid injury.
This is the kind of detail that normally only elite full-time athletes would expect.
At the Running Gym I believe strongly that everybody should have access to this, whatever their level of running – from race winners to the last person in the field.
Only one person can come first in a race but everyone is a winner and can be the best they can. This is what the Running Gym helps you achieve. A professional approach to your training, at a price that everyone can afford. Why would you take an amateur approach when this is available? It just doesn’t make any sense at all.
The Running Gym method is available in both 1:1 and small group format, from as little as £60 per month.
