Weight management made simple (it’s not rocket science!)



If there’s one thing that the vast majority of clients obsess about it is of course, weight management and usually, but not exclusively, belly fat. Now there are lots of people out there who will tell you that they have the ‘magic secret’ to solve this problem. They have a special pill, supplement or diet ,or a particular method of training or fitness device that will magically melt away your fat. Wake up guys, this is bullshit and purely designed to make them richer and you poorer and still fat!

No other animal has any problem regulating their weight, unless they have been deliberately fattened for human consumption or they are domestic pets, pampered and fed processed foods. You don’t see rats with calorie counters or giraffes doing sit ups! All of this is just so much nonsense to make people in the ‘health and fitness’ industry richer at your expense. You don’t need a personal trainer or a nutritionist to tell you the bleeding obvious!

Looking at this from a purely weight management point of view, all you really need to do is to eat less food and move around more. Stop eating when you feel full and avoid sitting as much as possible. You don’t need a special diet or a detailed training regime – just eat less and move more and you will lose weight over time. You don’t need to worry about where that fat will come from – your body will regulate as appropriate just as nature does with every other animal. You are NOT more clever than nature – you are in control of the most incredible machine imaginable – the human body. Does a monkey have to perform a particular exercise or take a special supplement to keep itself in shape? It’s ALL bullshit designed to take your money!

Sure, if you have particular goals beyond simply weight loss, such as improving cardiovascular fitness, getting stronger muscles, becoming more flexible or being healthier (remember there IS a difference between slim and healthy – they’re not synonymous as we have been led to believe!), then you will need to consider the quality of your nutrition, the type of training you’re doing etc. However, for pure weight loss which is what most clients are obsessed with, and nothing else, these are largely irrelevant.

So I’m not going to offer you any special supplements or tell you that I have a special secret that will give you your dream body – if you just want to lose weight and nothing else just eat enough so you’re not hungry and move around more frequently (like other animals) and watch the fat disappear.
